Passenger Clothing would like to welcome Arctic surf adventure photographer and full time vanlifer Hallvard Kolltveit to the family.
I was born and raised in the south of Norway, but found my calling for snapping photos while studying on Oahu, Hawaii. The hobby turned into passion when a surf trip to Iceland on the way back to Norway produced some truly memorable moments.
I want my photography to inspire others to make the journey to untouched landscapes and create their own magical moments. I owe so much to this sport, having taken me all around the world, and I want others to be able to experience the same.
A trademark of my photos is a towering mountain in the background and pumping surf in the foreground, as I try to include as much surroundings, story and atmosphere in my content as I'm able to. If I can inspire one person to explore somewhere new I've succeeded with my photography.
After having travelled the world and shot countless trips, I’ve come to love the in-between lifestyle photos like these more than the action shots. The laughs, the struggle and the photojournalistic ones are the ones I pull up on the screen from now and then to relive those trips and moments.
Photography is challenging up here, with cold being a daily struggle. It drains you of energy, drains your batteries of energy, and makes everything just that much harder. Having dealt with it my whole life I don’t actually mind being cold anymore, it’s a part of who I am and it’s a struggle that make the rewards that much sweeter.
